WAR4ME Merchants of Chaos

The city is at war with itself, three ways. Somebody has to keep everyone supplied, and the rent is due Friday. Build it at the bench, crate it, strap it into the van, drive it across town and get paid. Co-op for 1 to 4; a bot helper covers the empty seats.

Everything you make is merchandise. It is also, in a pinch, equipment. The customer will be billed accordingly.

Unpacking instructions

These builds are not code-signed. Your computer will be suspicious of us. This is reasonable.

Windows

  1. Unzip the download into any folder. Keep arms_dealer.pck next to arms_dealer.exe.
  2. Run arms_dealer.exe.
  3. If a blue box says Windows protected your PC: click More info, then Run anyway.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Playtesters on Windows: get the launcher. Put ArmsDealer.bat on your Desktop and double-click it. It downloads the newest build when there is one and starts the game, so you are always on the current build. No unzipping, no admin rights.

Windows may warn about the .bat the first time (More info, then Run anyway). The game it downloads does not get that warning. Builds go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\ArmsDealer.

macOS

  1. Open the zip and move WAR4ME Merchants of Chaos.app to Applications.
  2. First launch: right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later, if there is no Open button, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  3. Or, in Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/WAR4ME Merchants of Chaos.app"

Working with friends

The business takes 1 to 4 partners. Everyone downloads the same build (check the build number above), then:

Solo works fine too. The bot helper follows, drives and guards, and does not ask for a cut.
